Sketchbook Pro
10 hours
A Zelda/Hylia inspired piece I did while trying out Sketchbook Pro. Technically, it's Sketchbook Express, which came with my new Cintiq for free. The good: blocking layers and resizing tools help you work faster than traditional drawing. The bad: The pencil doesn't really behave like a pencil. The verdict: Sketchbook can't really do anything Photoshop can't, so I don't think I'll be upgrading to the full version. However, it's lightweight and streamlined, so it may become my go-to for one-off sketches and silliness, especially if I decide to try doing a tumblr. It will certainly NOT be replacing my traditional pencil work.
On the piece itself, I like the mood, but the left leg is really bothering me. I didn't sweat it because of the skirt, but now that everything's cleaned up, I'm annoyed with myself for not working it out beforehand (and the foot itself looks great, too...). Also, the bow can suck my ****. I hate drawing bows...why do I keep drawing them?!
I'm going to attempt to turn this into a painting (which isn't my forte, but I want to learn how), and if I succeed I'll move this to scraps.
